Iconv format

The iconv -l or iconv -list command lists the names of the supported encodings, in a system dependent format. For the libiconv implementation, the names are printed in upper case, separated by whitespace, and alias names of an encoding are listed on the same line as the encoding itself. This piece of code looks trivial: the first iconvopen creates converter and gets code page name from codePages array, its zero element is MAC, so it is logical for me that Mac OS X must support conversion from its own code page to Unicode. And the first call to iconvopen works. ICONV(3) Linux Programmer's Manual ICONV(3) NAME iconv - perform character set conversion SYNOPSIS #include iconv.h sizet iconv (iconvt cd, char.restrict inbuf, sizet.restrict inbytesleft, char.restrict outbuf, sizet.restrict outbytesleft); DESCRIPTION The argument cd must be a conversion descriptor created using the func-tion function tion iconvopen.
